What are you Nerdy about?
I'm pretty Nerdy about Pokémon. Figurines, TCG, videogames, the series --- all of it!!!
How long have you been a Nerd of it?
I think my origin story of it was when my parents bought me an episode of Pokémon when I was 4 years old. It was a VHS tape!! 😂
What got you into it?
It was the 23rd episode of Pokémon Series Season 1: The Tower of Terror. I LOVED replaying it as a child. Then it grew even more when I was given a GBA, along with Pokémon FireRed and Sapphire, I remember getting scolded a lot for "overplaying". I then started collecting cards as well. I've been in that rabbit hole now for 25 years...
Why do you love it?
One of the reasons why I love Pokémon is because of the journeying aspect of Ash with his Pokémons that end up growing stronger along the way. I love the caretaking that takes place, the love-pouring. I think it's what made me fond of animals 🤣
Got any cool finds, milestones, or proud Nerd moments?
My collection is not as big as most people but it's filled with amazing memories of my childhood. One of my most prized possessions is my Rayquaza (Shiny) - Call of Legends card. I remember ripping this pack open a loooong time ago and I remember just absolutely loving it. It was pure and unbiased, no factors such as its potential price in the future, or if it's grade-worthy --- just pure child-like joy.
If your nerdiness had a theme song, what would it be?
Oh it's definitely the classic OG theme song of Pokémon 😅
What fictional character would be your best friend IRL?
I'd probably be great friends with Hiro Hamada
from Big Hero 6 and Lewis from Meet the Robinsons since they're such tech geeks!!!!
